DIGITAL MEDIA

Digital recording has been available for over thirty years, and has provided a ready means of preserving sound from analogue media. Unfortunately, many of the media to which analogue recordings were copied "for posterity" are themselves either deteriorating or obsolete. Recordings on formats such as Betamax F1 and DAT rely for replay on machinery which has been out of production for years or decades. The best thing to do with either of these formats is to migrate the digital information to a universal file format, such as BWAV, which can then be stored on discs or hard drive. We can retrieve DAT and F1 tapes and apply the necessary corrections for de-emphasis and coincident time correction. Digital multitrack formats (ADAT, Tascam) can also be handled.
